Monday nights during august in Weymouth mean one thing,
fireworks. Usually I would be working and we would get the flurry of people
coming in wanting a quick meal before heading to the beach whilst others would
test their luck looking for somewhere after they have finished, tonight however
it was not my problem as I had the night off.
Wanting to do more than just stand in the crowd of people
'oohing' and 'ahhing' up at the sky I decided to get a little disposable bbq and
head down to the beach with a few mates and a few drinks and have a chilled out
evening.
To decide what food to bring was a no brainer my friend had
just made some burgers he was eager to get us to try and as for sausages there
was only one option, the Fantastic sausage factory.
The fantastic sausage factory is exactly what it says it is
and although they don’t just do sausages, the sausages they do are the best. I
personally prefer the garlic and black pepper ones so we grabbed a dozen. The
good thing I have found with these sausages as they work great for bbq’s if you
poach them off first then just a quick blast on the bbq to heat them through
and cook the outsides and they are perfect.
As for drinks you can’t get any better than nice Dorset ales.
I had a couple bought to me for a birthday gift and I am
glad they were on hand for such an occasion.
So we headed down to the quiet part of the beach off the
sand where we still had a brilliant view of the fireworks and we set up camp,
it was quite a warm night luckily as I forgot my jacket as we all sat around
eating lovely food, drinking great ales and watching the firework display.
